Genemuiden phase 1 - Jan van Arkelstraat
We have started construction on 22 new, single-story apartments on Jan van Arkelstraat in Genemuiden. Specifically for residents aged 55 and older who wish to continue living in Genemuiden. Comfortable and future-oriented, with the amenities of De Meente nearby. Construction is being carried out by contractor Van der Steeg from Genemuiden. The homes will be offered on De Woningzoeker starting in January 2027. On this page, you can read all about the progress of the construction.
22 apartments – comfortable and on one level
The new apartment complex consists of 22 ground-floor social rental apartments, spread over multiple floors. The apartments have a comfortable and practical layout and offer space for pleasant living.
Features of the apartments:
- various house types, all with two bedrooms
- a living room with an open kitchen
- a bathroom with a toilet
- a storage room/technical room in the home
- a private outdoor space, in the form of a balcony or terrace
- a separate indoor storage room on the ground floor per apartment
All apartments are easily accessible via the central entrance with elevator.
Sustainable and ready for the future
During the construction of the apartments, we pay close attention to sustainability and energy-efficient living. The homes are gas-free and are heated by a heat pump that also provides ventilation and hot water. Solar panels are being installed on the roof of the complex to generate a portion of the required energy. Thanks to good insulation and high-efficiency double glazing, the apartments offer comfortable living and are prepared for the future.
Planning and progress
Construction of the 22 apartments started in November 2025. Under normal circumstances, the construction time is just over a year. We expect the apartments to be completed in early 2027.
Rental and allocation
The rental of the apartments starts on January 12, 2027, via De Woningzoeker. The apartments are specifically intended for residents of Genemuiden aged 55 and older. They will be given priority for the homes.

Vollenhove - Canneveltstraat
We are building 9 new social rental homes on Canneveltstraat and Van Middachtenstraat in Vollenhove. This involves a mix of single-family homes and homes suitable for lifelong living. The homes are being built by Knol Bouw from Hasselt and were designed by Team2 Studio voor de Bouwkunst from Vollenhove. On this page, we will keep you updated on the progress of the project.
About the homes
The project consists of a total of 9 rental homes, distributed across two streets:
- 5 houses on Canneveltstraat
- 4 houses on Van Middachtenstraat
There will be 7 single-family homes and 2 age-appropriate homes. Of the 7 single-family homes, 4 are specifically for first-time buyers aged 21 to 35. This ensures there is supply for various target groups in Vollenhove. The age-appropriate homes are located on the corners of the development and are suitable for residents who wish to live on one level. These homes feature a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. The single-family homes have a living room with an open kitchen, two bedrooms, a bathroom, a terrace, and a storage room.
Sustainable and comfortable living
The new homes are being built with a focus on sustainability and living comfort. All homes are gas-free and energy-efficient. The homes are equipped with a heat pump, solar panels, and good insulation, among other features. Thanks to these features, the homes are comfortable to live in and energy costs remain as low as possible.

Construction of the homes will start in June 2026. If everything goes according to plan, the homes will be completed in the summer of 2027.
