Register as a home seeker

Important

18-year-olds and older: register as a home seeker

To be able to respond to a rental property from Wetland Wonen, it is important to be registered as a home seeker with De Woningzoeker. People often do not know that they have to register as a home seeker. Nevertheless, it is important that you register as a home seeker. If you are registered, you accrue registration time. This is important if you want to be considered for a home to which you respond. You can safely be registered for a few years. Every year you will automatically receive a message about renewal. If you respond to this in time, you will remain registered.

It is important that you are registered with the corporation you want to rent from. If you are registered, you accrue registration time.

This registration period is important when allocating homes.

Suppose you are eligible for a home, but the other person on the list has been registered for longer and has therefore built up more registration time, then the home will pass you by. So register on time. You can do this on the website of the Woningzoeker: www.dewoningzoeker.nl

You will then be notified annually whether you wish to renew your registration. You have to do this yourself; this can also be done via the site of the Home Finder. If you can't figure it out or if you don't have a computer, go to the Wetland Wonen office. You can also be helped there.

If you are registered, it is also important that you ensure that your details, such as income (and family composition), are correct. We recommend that you check this information regularly. This can prevent disappointments.

At the time of registration it is important that you have information regarding your annual income at hand. This also applies to your bank account number in connection with paying the registration fee.

Registration costs are one-off and amount to € 16.00;

the costs for annual renewal are € 10.00.

At www.wetlandwonen.nl you will also find information about registration and you will find a brochure with information about how De Woningzoeker works. You can also read a lot of information on the site of De Woningzoeker ( www.dewoningzoeker.nl ); through

“Info and contact”, go to “questions and answers”.

So, register as a house seeker if you are looking (now or in the future) for a rental property from Wetland Wonen. When registering, you can also indicate the core in which you are looking for a home. Only if Wetland Wonen has no homes in that core, you cannot indicate this when registering. You can then contact Wetland Wonen to report your preference for core.

You can also contact the Digital Information Point in the library and Help Loket Brederwiede for help with registering.

Seniors and the importance of registering as a home seeker

People are getting older and living longer in their homes. Many elderly people dread a move and actually prefer to adapt their home, in which they have lived for so long.

Nevertheless, it is important to ask yourself in time whether the current home can be adapted. And you may still want to move to a ground floor house or an apartment if your health deteriorates and you need more care and assistance. It often turns out that many elderly people have not yet thought about registering as a home seeker. Or keep putting this off because it is considered too confrontational. Registration is also often seen as a barrier. Or they do not know that they have to register as a home seeker. Nevertheless, it is important that you register as a home seeker. If you are registered, you accrue registration time. This is important if you want to be considered for a home to which you respond. You can safely be registered for a few years.
